I'm going to order a new video card as soon as I can, what's the best way to check what my current video card

specifications and what video cards would be compatible with my computer?

Also, if possible, could you leave some instructions for replacing the video card?|||Open the control panel, system, hardware, device manager. click on video adapters and you see your video card and every details concerning it. For the type of video card compartible with your PC, you have to tell me what PC you have and then I can be able to say something about it. I hope this information will be useful to you.|||There are a few ways to tell

Start > Run dxdiag will reveal alot of info

about the video and audio drivers and modes

and hardware and memory both on PC and Video card

Control Panel > System >Hardware TAB >Device manager

double click on Video Card entry (not monitor)

Start > Programs > Accesories > System Tools >System Information

Right Click on Desktop > Properties

will say 1: Plug and Play Monitor on XXXXXXXX

the XXXXXXXXX will be name and model of your card

based on the driver you used on install

As for replacing the Video With the new card available for install

Open the --Control Panel > System >Hardware TAB >Device manager

Under the line for the installed Video Card UNINSTALL it

then SHUTDOWN PC not reboot

UNPLUG the PC power cord then Open Left side of case

Remove OLD video Card and Install New card

Replace Left side cover (if you are sure you did it right)

and Plug the PC back in and boot it up

NOTE: if when you opened the PC you found the original

Video was "built into the motherboard" check the manual

for the directions for removing it from hardware list.

Some require installing or moving a JUMPER on the motherboard

Some require changing an option in BIOS

others that have AGP video built in will turn off

if a replacement card is placed in the expansion AGP

port

However if they have AGP onboard and you use a PCI card

they do not turn off the onboard video|||you can check which video card you ahve through ur computer..

Control Panel>>Device Manager>>Display Adapters

ull find ur video card there...then just google it for specs

to replace ur video card...the instruction manual comes with ur new card

good luck
