Am going shopping for a new video card need help?

basically i have a HP p.c and and i am planning on updating the video card since i been using the stock one i don't really know the info on the p.c i know it has X.P and i bought it in 2004 what do i need to know to get a video card that will run with this p.c ?|||You'll want to make sure your computer is up to spec, also. Also, check how much power the card you're looking at buying consumes and how much your power supply provides. Many new cards require extra power connectors that require newer power supplies. I would recommend at least a Geforce 8800 from Nvidia to run many newer games.|||in all honesty you probably will need to get a new computer to play any new games. if you really want to try it, check for any documentation in a manual or online about expansion slots. basically for any new graphics cards you will need a pci-express 2.0 x16 slot available, otherwise the card will not work. it cannot be pci, it must be pci-e|||What model of HP?
