No sound on PC after new video card installed?

Just before Christmas Day I got a new video card installed on my machine. A few hours after I took it home I turned it on and my graphics are brilliant but -I now have no sound on my PC. I have checked and triple-checked my cables, looked in device manager and it says everything is working properly, no nothing is muted, my drivers are all up-to-date, I have spent days troubleshooting or trying to, and I'm in despair. The guy in the shop is not back there until mid-January. Can someone tell me what could be wrong? My sound controller is ATI Function Driver- ATI AA01.|||OK I just had this EXACT problem in fact. When you start up your computer hit F10 or w/e you need to in order to get into the setup menu. There look for your sound/audio in the options available. Make sure it is enabled. This should resolve your issue.

Regards,

Shane

Edit: I also did have a bran new video card mess up my audio and this solved the problem.|||did you read how much power is required for the graphics card? possibly not enough power to support both the sound and graphics... otherwise try uninstalling your sound card and reinstalling [download the sound driver from your computer brand's site].. if all fails.. it may have fried.
