Hello, I'm trying to find a new video card for my system that is roughly between 100 or 110 dollars. I am on a very strict budget so that is as much as I can possibly give out on one. My system specs are: 2 gigs of ddr2 667 ram, e4500 intel dual core cpu stock speed 2.20ghz overclocked to 2.5ghz, 420watt psu, 8600gts 256mb gddr3, 17' inch. lcd monitor max resolution 1280x1024. Also i'm using windows xp 32-bit operating system. I was thinking about getting a 9800gt, but with all of the new cards constantly coming out, i'm starting to get confused on what I should buy. I'm planning on getting a card that will be able to handle all the games coming out such as assassins creed 2 and codmw2. And one last thing, I need a card that will last until the end of 2010 most likely.|||The cards that are $110 or under currently -that are decent/good for gaming- are:
(put in order of performance)
ATi Radeon HD 4850 512MB/1GB GDDR3 or Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX/GTX+ (know as the GTS 250)
ATi Radeon HD 4830 512MB GDDR5 or Nvidia GeForce 9800GT
ATi Radeon HD 4770 512MB GDDR5
ATi Radeon HD 4670 512MB/1GB GDDR3 or Nvidia 9600GT 512MB/1GB
The GTS 250, and 9800GTX is over $120.
Id' recommend that you go with a 4850, 4830, 4770, or a 9800GT. (But) from the four, the 4850 is the best in performance, and it's under $105 (under $100..depending where you buy it from).
Note: All the cards list are DirectX 10.1, the future games might be DirectX11, but the DX11 cards are currently $140+ (the 5750 is $137, but it's not the best out there (I'm pretty determiend that the 4850 will beat it , or similar to it, in terms of performance (frame-rates)...and the better ones [5850, 5870] are $300+).|||Best bet is probably the 4850. Much faster than the 9800GT.
